As Emmitt Plant looks to support more tier one projects, they’ve worked with Molson Equipment to upgrade their fleet’s fuel efficiency. This sustainability-focused procurement drive has led to a switch to Kobelco excavators, starting with a bumper deal for 13t and 21t excavators.

The deal, which includes six Kobelco SK130 models and one Kobelco SK210 excavator, is designed to give the East Anglia-based plant and tool hire business the reliable performance and low fuel consumption needed to meet the requirements of tier one contractors.

Established in 1979 and now part Group One Construction, a holding company of 12 businesses with a turnover of more than £200 million, Emmitt Plant operates from depots in East Anglia and the Midlands.

The new Kobelco models will join a fleet of excavators, dumpers, rollers and telehandlers. An OEM brand renowned for developing machines with quality, fuel-efficient performance, these medium-sized excavators will help Emmitt’s customers get tasks done even in the harshest environments.

All of Emmitt’s new machines have been fitted with rotation circuits, which enables them to use the range of attachments also available to hire, from breakers to rotating grabs. They also have a distinctive reflective counterweight wrap, meaning they’ll always be easily spotted on-site.

Managing Director for Emmitt Plant, Luke Findlay, said, “These new machines are exactly what we need to continue to fulfil high-value contracts. Partnering with dealers that we can have faith in, like Molson Equipment, means we can face a challenging market with greater confidence. We’re very excited to get these excavators out onto customer sites.” Sales Manager for Molson Equipment, Chris Beckingsale, added, “Kobelco’s frugal fuel consumption and reliability was a perfect match for Emmitt Plant and their customers. It’s great to be able to support an ambitious business to meet their commercial goals with quality machinery and aftersales support.”
