For businesses looking to maximise their skip space while keeping their transport costs and carbon emissions low, the C 14 primary shredder is a must-add to their waste operations. Available in top-mounted and safety box models, it can shred a variety of waste directly during collection, making it more homogeneous and saving 75% of container space.
The top-mounted model has foldable, adjustable support arms, meaning it can be adapted to fit a range of different containers, including tipping skips, roll-off, hinged containers and L-stones. Transverse and longitudinal position adjustment means the unit can move across the container, helping teams optimise volume utilisation. Then, when the container is full, the C 14 arms can be folded away ready for transportation.
Its compact dimensions also make the C 14 highly mobile. With crane eyes and forklift pockets, the top-mounted model can be mounted by crane, wheel loader, forklift truck or telehandler. Similarly, the safety box option has a height of 3.22m, meaning loading can be done using the same machinery, or a telescopic loader. Universal fastening mechanisms then make it easy for operators to fix the unit into place.
Once mounted, the powerful 12kW electric motor can be driven via a plug-and-play connection into the mains or a generator. This powers a rotor which automatically reverses when it meets strong resistance, meaning it can deal with tricky materials effectively without risking downtime. This means the rotor can run smoothly for six to 20 rounds per minute.
There are also 28 offset arrangement universal tools which can be fitted to deal with waste such as:
- Cardboard and cartons
- Wooden pallets
- Plasterboard
- Green waste
- PET bottles
- Plastic pipes
These can all be handled safely and simply using a radio remote control. A hopper extension also makes it easy for operators to load the unit, even when they’re dealing with higher volumes. This doesn’t just enhance the efficiency of on-site waste operations, but ensures the safety of the team.
To enhance productivity even further, there are several different options available to better suit a business’s footprint and processing train. A conveyor belt can be fitted to the safety box, meaning large skips and containers can be easily loaded without having to switch to a top-mounted model. For businesses dealing with materials outdoors, a rain cover will prevent the containers from filling with water.
Thomas McKiver, Sales Director for Molson Green, said, “The powerful technologies and variety of options means a range of businesses can benefit from using the C 14. Whether they’re being used directly on construction and landscaping sites or at waste collection points, volume can be optimised, which helps businesses minimise their transportation costs and carbon footprint.”
