Waste and recycling businesses can achieve even tighter control over their material size while maintaining high throughput thanks to the Eggersmann FORUS F 38. With features that give operators tighter control, this primary twin shaft shredder can achieve their desired piece size with just one pass.
Able to deal with a range of materials, including organic, commercial, household and bulky waste, the machine’s individually adjustable shafts and quick-change after breaker bar system means businesses can easily flex to changing feed materials and customer needs.
With both the rotation and the speed of the shafts within the operators control, they can optimise shredding efficiency, benefit from the self cleaning effect and keep the risk of winding low. These heavy-duty shafts are also equipped with multifunctional rotor tools. Each has 40 different tools to select from, again helping operators maximise throughput on all materials.
The optional quick-change after breaker bars are also designed to enhance productivity. A hydraulic mounting and locking mechanism enables toolless changing of the bars, a process that will only take 10 minutes. This allows operators to define the piece size as 120mm, 150mm, 300mm and 500mm with just a simple switch.
Alternatively, operators can opt for a screen basket system. Changed using the same system as the after breaker bars and available in 80mm, 100mm and 150mm sizes, it allows for even more precise controls on piece size.
Ecospray material humidification systems can also be added to control dust and improve safety when dealing with finer materials. A liftable and lowerable overboard magnet ejects metals on both sides of the machine, again minimising downtime and safety risks.
The shredding system can be driven by either a diesel-hydraulic or electric-hydraulic engine. Both drive a throughput of up to 80t/h, meaning businesses with relevant infrastructure can cut their emissions without losing efficiency.
To further optimise throughput, the F 38 has a hopper which can be hydraulically tilted via a radio remote control to achieve optimal material feed using a wheel loader. An extension option is also available for businesses that need to process even more material quickly and easily.
All parts of the machine are controlled via an intuitive Eggersmann One-Logic interface or 10-channel radio remote control. This means operators can easily adjust the shredding process or even create pre-set programmes for commonly-processed materials. For repairs and servicing, large maintenance doors means teams can easily access the engine, cutting downtime.
With tracked F 38 models available, operators can benefit from easy manoeuvring in tight spaces. This, and the other efficiency-focused features, make this shredder ideal for the UK waste and recycling market. As Thomas McKiver, Sales Director for Molson Green, explained, “The basket and breaker bar systems means operators can be processing one material in the morning and another in the afternoon while keeping tight control over piece size.
“The engine also consumes less fuel than other alternatives on the market, helping businesses keep costs low. Combined with a high throughput thanks to the large hopper and powerful drive, the F 38 can make significant differences to productivity, particularly when combined with our quality aftersales support.”
