Newly developed to meet the specific needs of the organic recycling sector, the Eggersmann STAR SELECT S60 screener can achieve precise separation with a throughput up to 300m3, with better machine availability. A mobile model which can accurately separate all three fractions, this is also the first star screener in Molson Green’s range, meaning sector businesses can get all their equipment requirements from a single dealer.

Operating on a central axle trailer chassis, the screen cuts can be configured to three pre-definable fractions; coarse between 0-60mm and >150mm, medium between 0-25mm to 150mm and fine between 0-10mm to 25mm. With individual screen shafts being easily interchangeable via the QuickChange system, operators can adjust their piece size without compromising on machine availability.

Two innovative technologies, the Centrifugal Conditioner and SplitSpeed System, help achieve even better screening results. The conditioner feeds materials from the bunker onto the coarse screen deck in a uniform way, meaning the material is optimally separated. The speed system means shafts can be run at different set paces, helping to create a consistent level on the fine screen deck. Even with difficult materials, this helps operators get quality results.

The machine can be powered by either a diesel-electric or fully electric engine, giving businesses with the right infrastructure the opportunity to cut emissions further. Both engines offer 55kW of power, meaning high levels of throughput aren’t ever compromised.

Extra features also support screening efficiency. This includes optional stone bands, magnetic rollers and wind sifters. The stone band and magnetic roller reliably removes heavy impurities, and discharges them downwards in the case of valuable ferrous metals. The AIRFIX V60 can also be attached to the screener to remove lighter impurities. This means operators can maximise output purity without using machines from different manufacturers.

The material choice for the fine screen star also promotes efficiency. Black NBR stars can be used universally for conventional materials, while the blue PU options prevent disc formation when processing moist materials. Duramax cleaning elements on the screen fingers prevent build-up on the screen shafts, while an automatic central lubrication system maintains productivity and minimises downtime.

Thomas McKiver, Sales Director for Molson Green, said, “There are lots of different fitting options available with the S60, meaning operators can adjust the machine to their processes, not the other way around. For example, the extra-long discharge conveyors are ideal for high dumping cones.

“A newly developed system, this machine will help UK recycling businesses achieve high throughput even with stick materials or during wintertime processing. Available on tracks, it’s perfect for the UK market and we’re excited to be adding a star screener to our range for the first time.”
